September 19 at 12:00 we open the Pinakothek's autumn exhibition at Agnes Brygghus, which is a stone's throw away. Nerdrum Museum in Sjøparken in Stavern. The exhibitors are a select group of international talents from the Nerdrum School who work in the same timeless tradition as their master. The melancholy of the dramatic motifs fits perfectly into the dark cave of the beer brewer, where the works are allowed to glow from the darkness towards the viewer.

The exhibition is a tribute to the classical movement, which has its roots in ancient Greece. At that time, the world's first gallery also saw the light of day at the entrance to the Acropolis fortress in Athens. The exhibition venue was named "The Pinacoteca" and showcased the best of the painters of its time. In terms of status and influence, it can be argued that the ancient Greeks valued craftsmen more than shopkeepers and officials. In the same spirit, we ensure that the painters are left with ninety percent of the profits from sales and hope in this way to set a healthier standard in a market characterized by antics and greedy gallery owners.
