About Pinakoteket
Pinakoteket (pinakoteket.no) is an online gallery belonging to Sivilisajonen AS. The Pinakoteket was established with the aim of promoting classical figurative painters, draftsmen and graphic artists by promoting their works.
The Pinakoteket respects the work behind a classic figurative work and has therefore made an active choice to take as small a percentage as possible in commission for the dissemination of the works of painters and draftsmen. While it is not unusual for a gallery to take 50 to 60 percent (!) in commission, the Pinakoteket only takes 10 percent, which is necessary to cover expenses. Pinakoteket's customers thus contribute to supporting the work of classical figurative painters and draftsmen, and are an indirect supporter of the classical movement that Civilization represents in Norwegian intellectual life.
Purchase conditions
The Pinakoteket online gallery is a distributor, and not a seller, of classical figurative paintings, drawings and prints. The works that can be bought on pinakoteket.no are sold directly from the artist or painter, and Pinakoteket acts as an intermediary between buyer and seller (painter or artist), and works to make the transaction smooth for both parties. We receive the customer's payment and delivery information, and forward delivery information and payment (minus commission) to the painter or draftsman.

PRICES
It is the painter/draftsman who determines the price of the works shown on the page. Through contracts with certain painters/draftsmen, the Pinakoteket has been given the opportunity to have promotional offers on works that are represented in the online store. When the price exceeds NOK 2,000. is a statutory art tax of 5% included in the sale price (Art tax to Bildende Kunstneres Hjelpefond). The art fee is charged to the sales amount at checkout, and is shown in the ordering solution before the order is placed. The Pinakoteket is responsible for paying the art fee to the State.
Civilization is against the Art Tax on principle, as we believe that the money is used to favor modernism and exclude classical painting. Civilization, however, follows Norwegian law. However, the Pinakoteket's customers can take comfort in the fact that no Norwegian gallery does more to promote classical painting and drawing than the Pinakoteket.
EXEMPTION FROM ADDED VALUE TAX ON MEDIA SALES OF ART
As mentioned above, all the pictures on this page are sold in the painter's/draftsman's own name, with the Pinakoteket acting as intermediary. The Pinakoteket passes on paintings, drawings and graphics as an intermediary on behalf of the painter/draftsman, i.e. in the name of the author and at the expense of the author. The prices on our website are therefore exclusive of VAT and VAT. will not be added to the sale price at the time of purchase.
For you as a customer, this means that you are buying from the painter/draughtsman (author), who is then to be considered the counterparty to the contract, with the Pinakoteket as an intermediary. Any complaints about paintings, drawings and graphics in the event of such sales are the responsibility of the author.
CONCLUSION OF AGREEMENT
The agreement is binding for both parties when the buyer has sent out his order.
