About Pinakoteket
Pinakoteket is an online gallery that belongs to Sivilisajonen AS.
We aim to promote classical figurative painters and draftsmen by promoting their works.
The works bought at Pinakoteket are bought directly from the master (that is, the painter or draftsman). This means that Pinakoteket acts as a middle man between the buyer and the maker.
Pinakoteket creates a unique opportunity for anyone who wants a classic work, by bringing together talented masters in one place. We want it to be easier to discover the works of talented painters and draftsmen.
Pinakoteket respects the work behind a classic figurative work and has therefore made an active choice to take as small a percentage as possible in commission for the dissemination of the works of painters and draftsmen.
It is not unusual for a gallery to take 50 to 60 percent (!) in commission. Pinakoteket only takes 10 percent, which is necessary to cover expenses.
Pinakoteket's customers thus contribute to supporting the work of classical figurative painters and draftsmen, and are an indirect supporter of the classical movement that Sivilisasjonen represents in Norwegian intellectual life.
