Kaja Norum makes images that are timeless and of archetypal quality, and she is inspired by mythology and human emotional states in life. She uses historical techniques from the Renaissance and Baroque, and finds inspiration in old masters such as Carravaggio, Rembrandt and Velázquez.
She studied with the kitsch painter Odd Nerdrum in 2008.
