The Quiet Girl

Liu Shiyi (b. 2001, China) is a painter who approaches painting as a philosophical path. His goal is to evoke archetypal images, inspired by the drama and resonance of Caravaggio and Rembrandt.

In 2017, he began his studies at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2018, he has studied under portrait painter Cheng Wu, which solidified his commitment to painting and philosophical thinking.

In 2022, he settled in London and maintained close contact with the city's museums and masterpieces. In 2025 he was a student of Odd Nerdrum, where he further developed his understanding of painting as a form of expression.
